Holiday Beauty Inspiration: Metallic Lips

The holidays are slowly approaching I am trying to find as much style and beauty inspiration for the season as I possibly can. I’m sure readers are doing the same for the upcoming holiday parties, Scorpio/Sagittarius or Capricorn birthdays, a night out on the town with Santa and his elves( or maybe just your girlfriends), dinner, shows e.t.c. Its one of the most wonderful times of the year therefore we’re required to have the most fabulous holiday style and makeup ideas. The Chic Notebook  will be giving you readers much inspiration for the approaching holiday season.
Its rare to find lipsticks with a naturally vintage look and feel to it. So when I saw this model from Rodarte’s Spring 2010 collection on TeenVogue my thoughts were that it is probably less wearable but with the perfect pigment, pout, hair and makeup as well as the head to toe ensemble it can totally work.

September Issues 2.0

The September Issue… no, not the movie. Although I really enjoyed this Vogue and Anna Wintour documentary and embraced the wit of Grace Coddington, I’m talking about the issues, THE September issues. It’s a new year in the fashion world and if that’s not a valid excuse to why magazines are so damn bulky and full of excitment then I don’t know what is. A few weeks ago gigantic magazine issues hit the newstands and for those lucky enough to have a subscription, your mail box. It’s like an early Christmas present but this one got a little extra attention. Caressing the pages for no slips, creases or tears may sound as if I’m taking it way too far but you have no idea. Let’s not talk about the anticipation to find out which celebrity is covering the biggest issue of the year. High end ads, trends, interviews, beauty, fashion, lifestyle, politics, home decor never looked so good. So now that October issues are about to hit the stands I would love to know what was your favorite September magazine Issue. I really enjoyed the Vogue’s , Nylon and ofcourse Marie Claire. I would love to hear from you guys….

Chic Confession: Magazines Galore

Usually I people run out of closet space but if this was my only concern then my head ache wouldn’t be this severe. My name is Chantal J and I am a “Magazholic”. LOL On a serious note I think I’m addicted to fashion magazines. Everything from Vogue to Essence, Cosmopolitian, Elle, Vanity Fair, People, Allure, Lucky, Instyle, Marie Claire, Glamour… You name it. Funny thing is I’m only subscribed to one and that’s Instyle. This is more than a confession though, I don’t regret ever buying a single copy. Reading fashion magazines makes me happy, it clears my mind, it inspires me, gives me ideas its like I’m on a different planet.

Of course I have every copy of Teen Vogue (my favorite magazine), some not pictured. I’m missing the first ever issue and the Miley Cyrus  May 2009 issue which I lent out and never received.
(Teen Vogue handbook is also pictured if you’re trying to get into fashion or beauty…get it)
One of my many piles. p.s the others were too messy for camera. lol
Is this normal? Give me your thoughts …

Dakota Fanning will grace the cover of the December / January issue of Teen Vogue. This teen starlett has a leading role in the Twilight saga “New Moon” (coming to theatres later this month). You all know that Teen Vogue holds a special place in my heart. I’ve love this magazine for years and I am still rooting for KeKe Palmer to star as a covergirl.
