Last on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week roaster but certainly not least. I had the privilege of working with The Blonds team for their Spring 2011 show and let me just say mission well executed. A fun and exciting show is always my NYFW icing on the cake! So with the tornado at its peak and pouring rain in the NYC streets I made my way to Milk Studios in the Meat Packing District (directly across the DVF store) to work The Blonds. This post may be somewhat biased but I’m pretty sure that you would agree with me when I say that these corsets are too die for! Here is The Chic Report’s long overdue “Chic Pick” post. Jewels, sequins, pearls are just a few gommettes used to create a dazzling embellished pieces as seen in the photos.
Selita ripped that runway! (Oh and did I mention we rode the elevator together? Such a sweetheart)
This is my look and the model that I worked with. p.s… I really didn’t think her breasts would show! She’s wearing a black sheer turtle neck underneath. And ofcourse black patent leather Louboutins. Just imagine the storm of orgasmic sighs backstage…

What an exciting show!

Ever asked yourself what does it take to sit front row at Mercedez Benz Fashion Week? Although I may not know the complete answer to this I know one: star power. Kelly Cutrone made it very clear that if you’re not seated in the first three rows at the tents then you’re literally a “nobody” but is that really true? After reading” If You Have To Cry”, watching “Kell On Earth” and of course “The City” religiously I’ve gained so much knowledge from this PR extraordinaire but I really don’t see anybody beyond third row a “nobody”. In my opinion it’s a privilege to even get standing. For those of you who aren’t familiar with fashion show seating’s, “standing” is basically the people in the backdrop….standing. Of course, buyers and celebrities, get front row seats because they’re basically the ones who can make or break a collection in this day and age. But is it overrated to score a front row seat? Immediate access to the collections on the web and backstage access to attendees have made it easier for the media to get an up close and personal view of the collection so is it really forth seeing front row? I would love to score a front row seat at a show, and of course predict Anna Wintour’s “It” pieces for Vogue just by her expressions. We’re on to the 7th day of New York Fashion Week where celebs and the “whose-who” in the fashion industry have been spotted in front row.
Angela Simmons front row at Betsey Johnson
Kelly Rowland front row at BCBG
Kanye West graced front row at Rodarte
Kristin Cavallari also graced front row at Badgley Mishka.
Olivia Palermo front row at Monique Lhuillier
Gabriel union front row at Tracy Reese
The Chic Notebook will be front row one day!

Between filming and attending Haute Couture shows in Paris this Gossip Girl has had the style web going crazy with her awesome choices of separates. The Chic Report is a huge fan of simple, effortless, classic staples, high end but fun pieces. Just when we thought dazzling blazers were out for the summer Blake reinforces how much style is inevitable in these ensembles. My favorite look would be the blue pants, gold statement shoulder blazer, minimum accessories, messy up do with pale-glamorous makeup.

Fall collections 2009 my first fashion week ever working behind the scenes. Train traffic is seriously driving my nerves in full gear. I’ve seen The Hills, now I’m about to go to work for the same PR extraordinaire who made Lauren Conrad cry and would tell you like it is in an instant without hesitating. Here I’m I all decked in black, Chanel inspired clutch on my side (ALDO), 4 inch heels, black on black ensemble with golden bedazzling accessories, and the most stylish pair of stockings from American Apparel. The Davidelfin / Peoples Revolution show was one of my first shows at the NY Fashion Week tents. Blackberry in hand and a piece of paper with an off sight address the other, hair bouncing from my fresh blow out. I felt like the ultimate NYC Fashion chick. It was all happening I felt great except my nerves were uncontrollable. The venue must have been at an atelier between 11th and 12 ave there was no way I’d make it in these heels plus my new Steve Madden’s were not for running. Hopped on what had to be the best cab driver in the city who considerately dashed across the avenues so I can make my call time. Its 1:53 made it to the venue and now I’m collecting my credentials… Thank God!!! This could have been the beginning and the end of my fashion career but I made call time!!! I’m a nervous wreck but its time to get it together, I’m ready to work with the Peoples Rev team front of house getting directions from miss Kelly Cutrone herself and although I’m attentive I kept saying in the back of my mind. “I like her! She’s not mean…she has the mind of a business woman”. Her drive was unbelievable! When she spoke directly at me for sitting directions as inspiration showered me. Go on Kelly you have a show to produce! Fast forward to January 2010 walking in to my Fashion PR and Events Planning class and Kelly Cutrone “Kell On Earth” was the main discussion every Tuesday, that’s when I decided I’d give this book a read. I started reading yesterday and I must say this is a GREAT book. I wont give anything away until my official book review (as soon as I’m done reading). Until then find yourself at the nearest book store and pick up a copy. She has a story to tell!

Whats a comeback on a straw runway??? You call it pushing the envelope but the fashion savvy calls it Betsey Johnson. She made her comeback to the tents this Fall and definitely didn’t disappoint the mass… Betsey’s inspiration behind the collection and her runway decor is self explanatory, take a look…
